Series Explanation:

The “Positive Space” series is a play on words. The negative space in a work of art is defined as the empty space around and between the subject matter. In this new series, Taft uses the black lines and shapes to create negative space between the colors. This also helps create a layered feel where the black lines may or may not be the secondary “negative space”. Lastly, most of Taft’s work is focused on the positive aspects of life. Hence, the “Positive Space” series.
