Series Explanation: There is a term in the art world called “Negative Space”. It refers to the background or area that surrounds the subject of the artwork. Taft has always been drawn to art that magnifies the negative space or uses it in a unique way. Taft’s Double Entendre Series is another unique use of negative space. Since Taft’s art is primarily focused on positive messages, the “Positive Space” series is a play on words that focuses on two layers of abstract art that could both be the negative space in the artwork, but work together to compliment one another, creating a positive vibe.
